IMAJINE on independence movements at BBC Radio Wales

IMAJINE researchers from Aberystwyth University have been drawing on their findings to provide insights into the phenomenon of ‘indy curiosity’ in Wales, for Radio Wales’s current affairs programme Eye on Wales.

In recent years, new civil society organisations have emerged advocating Welsh independence, and the latest opinion polls suggest that a growing number of people are ‘curious’ to know more about such a constitutional possibility. Informed by new IMAJINE data, Dr. Anwen Elias and Dr. Elin Royles provide insights into the range of arguments used by independence movements (in Wales and elsewhere in Europe) to justify secession, and reflect on the challenge of making a convincing case for such a radical constitutional change.

The programme will be broadcast on Radio Wales on 27 February, 18.30 GMT.
