CALL FOR PAPERS: Spatial disparities in Europe: from regions to localities to individuals

The European projects IMAJINE and RELOCAL are very pleased to announce a joint workshop on Spatial disparities in Europe: from regions to localities to individuals. The workshop will take place in Oviedo (Spain), on October 22nd and 23rd, 2019.

The topics of interest include, among others, questions related to:

  • Estimation of socio-economic disparities at local level;
  • Mapping and visualization of socio-economic spatial disparities at different spatial scales;
  • Analysis of socio-economic spatial disparities using individual-level data vs local data vs regional data; and
  • The debate of the spatial scale in Regional Science.

We are very pleased to confirm the participation of Professor of Economics Geoffrey Hewings (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign). Prof. Hewings has published numerous scientific contributions in Economics, Urban and Regional planning, Economic Geography, Input-output Analysis and other fields; and is a member of the IMAJINE Advisory Board.

The workshop aims at bringing together researchers from various fields working on Regional and Urban Economics, Economic Geography and other related topics to discuss ideas and exchange knowledge on the aforementioned topics.

 

Venue and contacts:

The workshop will be held at University of Oviedo, in the North of Spain. There are no fees for participants of the workshop. Abstracts of papers and/or full papers intended for presentation should be prepared in PDF-format and be sent to avinuela@uniovi.es or pmelo@iseg.ulisboa.pt.
